Palo Popcorn brought Concept4 in to lead a brand relaunch from the ground up. Our team partnered closely with theirs to rebuild the brand, packaging, and website as one connected system.
Palo Popcorn is a family-owned, gourmet popcorn brand known for its wet-popped-in-coconut-oil process. It’s a small difference that coats every kernel and sets it apart from most of the market. Founded in 1963, that signature craft built a loyal following, but its packaging, brand identity, and digital presence hadn’t kept pace with where the company wanted to go next: onto more shelves, in more stores, across the country.
Concept4 kicked off the engagement with a competitive audit, using those insights to systematically overhaul Palo’s visual identity, packaging, and digital ecosystem. The result is a refreshed brand built to travel, ready for new shelves, new markets, and long-term growth.
A Modernized Identity, Flavor by Flavor – Following an analysis of the gourmet popcorn market, Concept4 modernized Palo Popcorn’s logo and established a custom color system. Assigning a distinct palette to each flavor ensures the lineup reads as one cohesive family while popping on retail shelves. A single-page brand guide brought it all together, becoming the foundation for everything that followed, giving Palo Popcorn a consistent reference point for packaging, the website, and every piece of marketing and content still to come.
Palo Popcorn’s original clear bags let customers see the product inside, giving the brand a small-batch, homemade feel. But that same transparency shortened shelf life and restricted distribution. Concept4 resolved this tradeoff by redesigning the full packaging lineup. Each new opaque bag features its assigned flavor color on the outside, a foil-lined interior to extend shelf life, and prominent callouts for real ingredients. This design maintains the local business appeal of the original packaging while allowing Palo Popcorn to expand into grocery, convenience, and specialty stores nationwide.
A Website Rebuilt for Discovery and Growth – Palo Popcorn’s previous website no longer reflected the modernized identity taking shape across packaging and marketing. Concept4 rebuilt the site to align visually with the new brand system and tell a more compelling story about the product, from the wet-popped-in-coconut-oil process to the flavor lineup. The new Shopify storefront gives shoppers a store locator to find Palo Popcorn near them, a direct e-commerce shop, a blog for brand storytelling, and a distributor inquiry path for retailers interested in carrying the brand.
Concept4 built the marketing strategy behind the brand, packaging, and website relaunch, then used it to guide how each piece reached the market: through paid advertising, retailer support, consumer email, and social media.
Paid campaigns across Meta, Google Search, and Performance Max introduced the new packaging under one simple idea, that it’s a new look with the same great taste. The ads reinforced Palo Popcorn’s Wisconsin roots and real ingredients, reassuring loyal customers while introducing the brand to new audiences across Wisconsin and neighboring markets.
Geotargeted paid social campaigns gave individual Midwest retail partners their own creative, naming the store and marking exactly where to find Palo Popcorn on the shelf, a repeatable approach Concept4 can extend as distribution grows.
Email brings new subscribers into the brand story from the first send, with a welcome series that introduces the flavor lineup, and ongoing campaigns that announce new packaging, spotlight seasonal content, and keep Palo Popcorn top of mind between purchases.
Organic content across Instagram and Facebook builds anticipation and connection around the new packaging launch, and a dedicated LinkedIn strategy for the company page and founder’s profile builds credibility with retail buyers and distributors.
